Ivy League Estates is close to the resort town of Rancho Mirage which is one of nine cities in the Coachella Valley. And El Paseo Drive is a mile-stretch of posh boutiques and is known as the Rodeo Drive of the West.

Thunderbird Guest Ranch which opened in 1946 was the first one built. Rancho Mirage golf courses include the Tamarisk Country Club, Mission Hills Country Club, The Springs Country Club, Sunrise Country Club, Westin Hotels Missions Hills Resort, and Tuscania by Sunrise.

This exciting city was incorporated in 1973 and gained notoriety when the Hollywood crowd came looking for private retreats. Many stars that traveled here included Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Bob Hope, and Frank Sinatra. Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan also frequented these country clubs.
